Introducing Knutsford Childminding (established 1994)...

Hello, my name is Sarah and I am an Ofsted registered childminder. I was graded Outstanding by Ofsted at my inspection in 2007 and again in 2011 and again in 2016! I work full time with my husband and co-childminder Nigel, who is also an outstanding graded Ofsted registered childminder and a fully qualified chef.

We run our childminding business from Knutsford, Cheshire - close to Manor Park and St Vincents schools.

I also write e-books for other childminders... it all started when I wrote up some notes about multicultural activities for a friend and she said she thought they were good enough to sell. Now I have over 50 e-books, a library of mini e-books and some illustrated e-books for sale. My e-books cover many subjects relevant to childminders working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), such as planning and the EYFS, observations and the EYFS, completing a Self Evaluation form (SEF), paperwork and the EYFS, music and rhymes and many other subjects.

In my spare time, I write for - the UK's biggest and best childminder ~ parent online matching service - and for my information website Independent Childminders - and for various magazines including ChildCare magazine ... and other publications on request.

I am also a fully qualified trainer and deliver training to childminders, nurseries and other early years professionals across the north west.

About our childminding provision...

I have been working as a childminder for more than 20 years and have updated my skills and knowledge during this time... I have a BA Audiology and Education (Man, 1986), NVQ3 in Early Years, Childcare and Education, NCMA Quality First, Paediatric First Aid certificate (renewed every 3 years), basic Food Hygiene qualification, Open University Early Years Foundation Degree and I regularly attend courses to keep up-to-date.

We accept enquiries for parents with children aged from 3 months to 16 years. We are a fully inclusive provider and have published our SEND Local Offer on the parents page of our website. For under 5s, we use the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum to help us observe, assess and plan for each child's individual learning and development. We work with their parents and local providers to ensure all the children in our care reach their full potential.

We have a dedicated indoor play area and a large, child-friendly garden with all weather awning and we take children on regular outings.
